Living on acreage between hills, surrounded by nature, the air seems sweet and cleaner. During the rain, I feel spoiled that I can indulge, spending all day in my studio, painting or nutting out a new sewing project. For me rain has a calming effect, it makes me feel peaceful and at rest. All that nourishment is for plants, animals and us alike. Then the sun is shining again, and I can't help thinking about all the new activity under the soil in my garden -- worms, insects and tiny little organisms busy toiling the earth.
